ATF's New Factoring Criteria for Firearms with Attached “Stabilizing Braces”

So, the folks who want to regulate away your rights are at it again, of course in the name of your safety.

The ATF has issued their proposed Factoring Criteria for Firearms with Attached “Stabilizing Braces”. Their new rule changes come up with a snazzy little point system to decide if your brace gun is intended to fired from the shoulder, making it a SBR that needs to be registered with NFA. You could of course forfeit the firearm to ATF, or change the configuration. We will see how that all plays out AFTER the proposed rule is published in the Federal Register and the comment period has come and gone.

Lucky for you, the "point system" they came up with can predict your intentions. That takes all the guess work out for you... y'know, incase you were unsure of your intentions. Unlucky for you, after reviewing the point system worksheets, you will quickly realize that you are screwed. While not entirely impossible for your firearm to be classified as a braced pistol, in practice you will be in the wrong. This arbitrary system if essentially making the rules in opposition of each other, creating a situation that puts you in an impossible position to own the VAST majority of braced firearm configurations already legally owned.

The question is, what are you going to do about it? If either fear or apathy set in and cause you not to be vocal, I can guarantee you this regulation will proceed and there will be just one more tool at the disposal of the gun grabber to use against you. We highly recommend reading the entire proposed ruling(link below) and put together your thoughts, to be ready when the comments portion opens up. We would also recommend contacting all of your representatives and make your feelings known.

One thing you have to really consider is the issue that ATF is using the concept that people are shouldering braced firearms as a work-around to avoid the NFA. This of course is just a ploy to control literally millions of legal firearms in current existence, with ATF previously having said it was OK. It has to beg the question... what if people are shouldering braced firearms? Well, the answer is SO WHAT? What difference does it really make? It makes no difference at all. Truthfully the bureaucrats don't actually care at all. This is just an excuse to work towards their end-goal of banning civilian ownership of firearms. If you don't believe that, you have been sleeping through all the  "common sense" restrictions they have been instituting since the 1930's. If you think just being reasonable and compromising will work, remember this, compromise means "it's our way or the highway" to these people. You will never win through appeasement.

I will close with this thought.... there are a whole lot more of us than there is of them! Use those numbers to make your voice heard. Be vocal and proud to exercise your rights, unabridged! Risk going to FB jail for going against their grain. Let your Reps know they won't be feeding at the trough much longer if they don't get it together. Be sure to comment when it opens up. Silence IS consent!
